WHAT IS OVERLANDING?

Our friends at Overland Journal define Overlanding as “Vehicle-supported, self-reliant adventure travel, typically exploring remote locations and interacting with cultures.”

Overlanding can be very different for each individual or group and can be anything from a quick weekend getaway, covering a hundred miles of gravel roads to an intense month-long off road, cross country adventure. The key difference between overlanding and traditional offroading is the exploration and adventure aspect. While overlanding trips still involve offroading and sometimes challenging terrain, the payoff is not conquering an obstacle but soaking in the experience, scenery, culture, etc.
